The oldest living tree in the world is a bristlecone pine (Pinus longaeva), living for nearly 5,000 years high in the White Mountains of California and the Snake Range of eastern Nevada.

Irelands oldest tree is a yew tree in Co. Wexford which is over 1000 years old. It grows happily in a private garden and measures 6.78m in girth.
